A whimsical continuation of the history of placing fancy structures in gardens and landscapes, it is set in a grove of trees beside the 19th-century ornamental Dairy. Their weekly cellar tour and tasting takes place in the Vault Room, encircled by one of the world’s most revered collections of Rothschild wines.

Flights of Fancy: Birds at Waddesdon

This summer, flock to Waddesdon for a bird festival. Find a variety of family-friendly events, exhibitions, and activities centred around birds around the Manor, Aviary, and Gardens.

The life and work of the painter Louis-Denis Armand (1723–1796), who worked at the renowned Sèvres porcelain factory, are showcased in the exhibition. Armand’s work was recently rediscovery. His birds evolved from whimsical “flights of fancy” inspired by his vivid imagination into works that were remarkably accurate depictions of birds of prey.
